About My Studio

Welcome to Mix It Up Moss Studio — a cozy, moss-filled haven where nature meets imagination. Tucked away in a space filled with earthy textures, blooming florals, and bits of forest magic, this is where each preserved moss creation comes to life. From fairy door scenes and glowing windows to timeless botanical art, every piece is handcrafted with care, creativity, and a love for the little details. Whether you’re after whimsical charm or natural elegance, this studio is where your mossy dreams are made.

I Create With 100% Preserved Moss

Each piece at Mix It Up Moss Studio is handcrafted build-to-order, meaning I create your moss art after learning what inspires you — whether it’s a favorite color, a woodland theme, or a timeless look for your space. You choose the size, frame, style, and magical (or minimal) details, and I bring it to life.

All of my creations are made with 100% preserved moss and sustainable plant matter, ensuring they stay vibrant and maintenance-free for years to come. I take pride in using locally foraged materials — most of the wood, stones, and bark are carefully collected by hand from the lush forests and riversides of Tulameen, B.C. I forage with respect for nature, gathering only what’s needed, and always leaving the land as wild and untouched as I found it.

From start to finish, your piece is crafted with intention, care, and a deep love for the natural world.

Since August 2024…

Mix It Up Moss began as a quiet act of healing — a way to keep my hands busy and my heart grounded after stepping away from my career in construction project management. What started at my kitchen table soon grew into something magical. Inspired by my love of nature, gardening, and all things whimsical, I began creating preserved moss art using foraged wood, stones, and sustainable materials. Since 2024, Mix It Up Moss has blossomed into a studio filled with fairy doors, forest scenes, and custom creations — each one crafted with purpose, peace, and a little bit of wonder.

About Me

Hi, I’m Lauren — the hands, heart, and moss-loving soul behind Mix It Up Moss Studio. I began creating preserved moss art in the summer of 2024, after stepping away from my career as a construction project manager. What started as a therapeutic outlet quickly grew into a full-blown passion — one rooted in nature, storytelling, and a touch of whimsy.

I’m a proud mom to two amazing children, Emma and Christopher, and a lucky stepmom to two more, Britney and Cole. I’m also a dog mom to three very opinionated pups — two giant, lovable Saint Bernards named Ember and Oakley, and Sam, the smallest of the bunch but undoubtedly the boss of the house. We also share our home (and mostly, my studio) with two cats, Max and Ruby, who have claimed every corner of my craft space and are always underfoot during the creative chaos.

None of this would be possible without the love of my life, Darren — my rock, my biggest cheerleader, and my calm in the storm. I’m endlessly grateful for my family’s support, especially my dad Herb, who not only delivers my floral supplies but somehow manages to do it with a smile every time.

Each piece I create is made with preserved moss and sustainable plant matter, much of it foraged from the forest trails and wild places around Tulameen, B.C. Whether it’s a custom fairy door scene, a mossy woodland escape, or a nature-inspired wall piece, my hope is to craft something that brings wonder, beauty, and a little bit of forest magic into your world.
